In April, 1941, Serbia came under direct German military administration. On October 22, 1941, an anti-Masonic exhibition commenced in Belgrade. On January 1, 1942, a series of four postage stamps bearing anti-Semitic images was issued to commemorate this exhibition. The surtax on these stamps was used for anti-Masonic propaganda purposes. The stamps are reproduced below:
