La Chaux-De-Fonds is a town in the canton of Neuchatel, western Switzerland. Jews first came to the town in 1772 from Alsace. A Jewish community was organized in 1833, and the first synagogue was acquired in 1853. The synagogue depicted in the postcard below (postmarked in 1907) was built in 1896. As of 1962, the Jewish community had 124 members.
